Wario is a fictional character and antagonist in Nintendo's Mario series, designed as an arch-rival to Mario. Wario is portrayed as a caricature of Mario. His name is a portmanteau of Mario's name and the Japanese word warui, meaning "bad". He has a large head and chin, huge muscular arms, a short-sleeved yellow shirt and purple overalls along with a blue W on his hat.
