Shining Armor, a unicorn pony, is the son of Twilight Velvet and Night Light, the older brother of Twilight Sparkle, the husband of Princess Cadance, and the father of Flurry Heart. He previously served as the captain of the Canterlot Royal Guard under Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, and is now a prince due to his marriage to Cadance. He made his debut in the season two finale alongside Cadance and was later appointed as one of the rulers of the Crystal Empire in the season three premiere.
